About Amanda
I am a creative and passionate individual committed to promoting wellbeing. I have faced numerous challenges, feeling overwhelmed by the demands of life—family, education, friendships, and work. I tried managing it all, but at what expense? I participated in numerous talk therapy sessions without finding resolution. When I engaged in personal music therapy I started to release my emotions, explore my feelings, and experience personal growth. This journey has profoundly shaped my professional practice.
I offer unwavering acceptance, patience, and a willingness to embrace limitless musical creativity as we collaborate to shape your journey ahead.
As an experienced professional, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. My role encompasses that of a therapist, educator, and researcher. Since 2003, I have been a Board Certified Music Therapist, dedicated to utilizing the power of music to enhance the well-being of those I serve.
I work from a humanistic framework, with the belief that people have agency to achieve (and define) their personal best. I draw from the psychodynamic framework to help people understand their experiences. And I incorporate resource oriented music therapy concepts to help people achieve and maintain their optimal functioning.
