We will work together to create musical experiences aimed toward exploring your life experiences. Some examples of music experiences include listening to music, writing songs, and creating music. Following music making/listening, you will be invited to explore thoughts and feelings that emerged in the music. This process may allow for self-expression, increased self-awareness, relaxation, and rejuvenation.

Analytical music therapy, a method of music psychotherapy, incorportates improvisational music experiences to allow free expression. These improvisational experiences are symbolic of one’s inner being and are processed in whatever way is most comfortable to the client (e.g., verbally, through art making, through movement, etc.). The music therapy space is judgement free.

The therapeutic relationships between the music therapist, client and music is crucial, as they promote trust and openness. Clients are encouraged to reflect on their musical experiences, which can lead to insights and breakthroughs in their personal journeys. Ultimately, music psychotherapy can empower individuals to make meaningful changes, improve their mental health, and cultivate a greater sense of well-being.
